How you will make an impact

A project engineer responsible for the design and procurement of new equipment and manufacturing processes plays a pivotal role in shaping the operational efficiency, sustainability, and competitiveness of a factory. Their influence extends far beyond technical execution, impacting strategic planning, cost management, and long-term growth.

• Operational Efficiency and Innovation: By introducing modern equipment and optimized processes, the project engineer can significantly enhance production throughput, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.
• Cost Optimization Through careful selection of equipment and process design, the engineer can reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and lower maintenance costs.
• Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Incorporating environmentally friendly technologies and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations (such as emissions standards or waste management protocols)
• Safety and Ergonomics: New equipment and processes designed with safety and ergonomics in mind contribute to a healthier work environment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: By working closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and environmental teams, the project engineer ensures that new implementations are aligned with the broader objectives of the plant. This collaborative approach enhances integration and accelerates the realization of benefits.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• 3 years of Industrial Equipment Specification and Procurement,
• Process Design and Optimization,
• Project Management,
• Technical Documentation and Validation,
• Risk Assessment and Safety Engineering,
• Budgeting and Cost Control

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience in PICS, automation projects, plant relocation projects, process qualification
• English proficiency
• Skills include teamwork, collaboration, innovation,

Work location: Onsite:

• Onsite Jarinú/SP. Initially, the position will require the employee to work at the 3M Sumaré facility in preparation of the transition to Jarinú/SP

Travel: May include up to10% [domestic/international]

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
